A Letter to Religions for Peace USA

Historic Announcement

Dear Friends of Religions for Peace USA,

Religions for Peace USA is pleased to announce a new partnership with The Interfaith Observer (TIO) to deliver a special edition monthly e-newsletter about the field of interfaith relations.

You are reading this note because you have been previously identified as being interested in news from Religions for Peace or have been a past recipient of our historic newsletters. You will have the option to opt-out, if for any reason you are not interested, but we trust that you will appreciate their value.

The religious landscape in the United States is ever-changing, and it requires incisive analysis, up-to-date news, and – for those of us at RFPUSA – calls to shared advocacy work to advance peace and justice amongst and between religious communities and all people of goodwill.

The e-newsletter is a once-a-month roundup of important interfaith news and opportunities. These special editions of TIO will include all the same engaging content of a regular TIO, plus add:

  • regular updates from our RFPUSA member religious communities,

  • editorials and blogs written by RFPUSA religious leaders and partners, and

  • opportunities to engage in RFPUSA and Religions for Peace International programming and resources.

This new initiative is aimed towards connecting local communities to national and global opportunities in interreligious work. Below my signature you’ll find a summary of what TIO does.

Please contact Aaron Stauffer, Associate Director of RFPUSA, at newsletter@rfpusa.org if you have religious/spiritual/community news you would like to share with everyone receiving our special edition – distributed to approximately 4,500 sources presently.

Once a year, we will invite readers to voluntarily contribute to support the e-newsletter. For now, we just invite you to enjoy it.

With appreciation for your consideration and support,

Sincerely,

Rev. Bud Heckman
Executive Director, Religions for Peace USA

The Interfaith Observer (TIO)

A monthly internet publication dedicated to exploring interreligious relations and interfaith culture

  • One hundred and fifty interfaith activists and academics, young and old, have written for TIO. You can see their photos and read their bios on TIO’s Who We Are webpage.

  • You can download the first 18 issues (most months have their own ‘theme’) from TIO’s homepage.

  • A Digital Index archives the 300 stories TIO published in its initial year, organized by subject.

As it grows, TIO’s dream is to generate a web of connection for people of faith and practice everywhere, a means for becoming friends and colleagues, for working collectively to make this a world with less violence, poverty, and injustice, and more respect, care, and generosity of spirit.
