April is month two in TIO’s five-month focus on writers from different religious traditions who have given a particularly rich stream of articles to this publication. Last month Anglican Marcus Braybrooke was featured. This month we turn to Ruth Broyde Sharone, a Jewish filmmaker, author, and passionate interfaith activist from Los Angeles. As a TIO Correspondent since TIO launched nearly five years ago, Ruth has written 50 articles for this publication, stories full of color and passion, with a host of remarkable characters from the worlds of interfaith relationship. A dozen of her articles republished here show the depth and breadth of Ruth Sharone’s interfaith commitment.

Next month we feature two TIO authors with similarly liberal Protestant backgrounds but totally different constituencies. Vicki Garlock writes beautifully about children and how they learn about different faiths and practices; by contrast Bud Heckman unpacks the global story, where budgets, policies, politics, and personalities, and all their attendant issues, somehow steer the ‘interfaith ship’ into the future. Caught somewhere between their two arenas, interfaith culture is emerging. TIO will return to its standard format in September.
